Counselling for Adults - Helping You Manage Stress, Anxiety, and Overwhelm
How can counselling help you cope, heal and move forward?
Counselling for when life feels overwhelming
Sometimes life can feel too much. You might feel stuck, lost, or unsure how to move forward. When you’re in a place of overwhelm, counselling can provide the space to talk through your feelings, explore who you are, and find new ways to cope with life’s challenges.
Understanding Yourself and Your Mental Health
Through therapy, you can gain a better understanding of yourself in relation to your past, present, and future. Together, we can explore how your experiences have shaped you and discover healthy ways to manage your mental health and emotional wellbeing.
A Supportive, Client-Led Approach
I work with you as an individual, offering respectful, compassionate support to help you make positive changes in your life. My approach is client-led, meaning we work at your pace and focus on what feels right for you. Building a trusting relationship is important as it allows you to feel comfortable sharing and processing your thoughts and emotions.
What to Expect in Counselling
Depending on what you’re experiencing, we might explore how your past affects your present, or focus on a specific situation that’s happening now. I may offer grounding techniques, coping tools, or help you look at thought patterns and how they influence your behaviour.
Together, we’ll work towards helping you feel more balanced, empowered, and in control of your wellbeing.
What do I offer? A Calm and supportive counselling space
I offer a calm and supportive space where you can talk freely and be heard without judgment. This is a space just for you, somewhere to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. Many people find it difficult to open up to friends or family, and counselling provides the opportunity to be truly listened to and understood.
While talk therapy is at the heart of what I do, I understand that speaking about your feelings isn’t always easy. For some people, creative therapy techniques such as drawing, mindfulness, or therapeutic games can help the process feel more comfortable and expressive.
If it helps you to feel more relaxed during sessions, fidget toys and sensory tools are also available. Together, we’ll find what works best for you so you can get the most out of your counselling experience.
I have helped adults with:
What to Expect in Your First Counselling Session
Your first counselling session is a chance for us to get to know each other and explore what you’d like to gain from therapy. You’ll have the opportunity to see if you feel comfortable and decide whether you’d like to continue with further sessions.
Flexible and Accessible Therapy
Sessions are usually held at the same time each week to provide consistency, but I offer flexible counselling appointments if your schedule varies. I aim to make therapy accessible and adaptable to your needs and lifestyle.
Open-Ended Support
Counselling is open-ended, meaning we’ll regularly check in to see how you’re finding the process and discuss when you feel ready to end therapy. Each session offers space for reflection, growth, and emotional wellbeing.
